We com­plet­ed this rear exten­sion and kitchen ren­o­va­tion in Friern Bar­net, a pop­u­lar res­i­den­tial area in the Lon­don Bor­ough of Bar­net. The project trans­formed a cramped, out­dat­ed kitchen into a spa­cious open‑plan liv­ing area, adding sig­nif­i­cant val­ue and func­tion­al­i­ty to the fam­i­ly home. What We Did

The orig­i­nal kitchen was nar­row and dis­con­nect­ed from the gar­den. Our solu­tion was to add a 4m single‑storey rear exten­sion with a flat roof and large sky­lights, cre­at­ing a bright, seam­less indoor‑outdoor space. We removed an inter­nal load‑bearing wall and installed a steel beam to sup­port the struc­ture.

Key fea­tures of the project:

• Bespoke kitchen: Han­dle­less cab­i­nets in a soft grey fin­ish, quartz work­tops, and a cen­tral island with break­fast bar.
• Under­floor heat­ing through­out the new exten­sion, ensur­ing com­fort year‑round.
• Full‑height bifold doors open­ing onto the patio, max­imis­ing nat­ur­al light and gar­den views.
• Recessed LED spot­lights and pen­dant lights above the island for a lay­ered light­ing scheme.
